In the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, experts mengungapkan that eating in a hurry to make the release of hormones in the intestine inhibited. In fact, it aims to hormone signals the brain that we have been full. As a result, we were so eating too much.
"Eating habits quickly would impede the release of hormones that make us feel full," said Alexander Kokkinos, MD, PhD, of Laiko General Hospital, from Greece.
Several studies have shown that the release of hormones in the intestine after a meal will react in the brain and cause a sense of satiety and satisfaction. However, until now there has been no study that links between the release of this hormone with the current level of speed eating.
In a study by Kokkinos and his team, he asked 17 healthy men to consume 300 millimeters of ice cream, in two sessions to eat and eat a different speed. At the first session, they were asked to eat in the duration of 5 minutes, and 30 minutes at the next session.
Then the researchers took blood samples and measuring the difference in hormones in the intestine before meals and after meals. As a result, eating slowly is more effective to respond to the release of hormones compared with eating in a hurry.
Activity eating slowly also believed to make people more able to enjoy and interpret his life. Meanwhile, when things all go through in a hurry, it loses meaning.
